Find answers to common GenFlik questions: how AI video ads work, credits and pricing, avatars, voices, languages, Shopify integration, and more.
GenFlik turns a product description, a link, or a few photos into a finished UGC-style video ad in about 5 to 10 minutes. It writes the script, picks a talking-head avatar, generates the voice, adds captions, music, and B-roll, and gives you a ready-to-post MP4.
Click Create, tell GenFlik what you're advertising (paste a product link, type a description, or upload photos), choose how long and what style you want, then preview the script. Pick an avatar and voice, choose your quality, and hit generate. Your video is emailed to you when it's done.
Most videos finish in about 5 to 10 minutes depending on length and quality tier. You don't have to wait on the page — we email you and send a push notification (on mobile) the moment it's ready.
No. GenFlik is built for people who have a product but no time, crew, or editing skills. You describe the product and make a few simple choices; the app handles the script, voice, captions, music, and edit automatically.
No. GenFlik writes the script for you from your product info. You can preview it for free, tweak any wording you want, or paste in your own script if you'd rather write it yourself. Want to draft one first? The free AI ad script generator writes hooks and a full script with no sign-up.
Yes. Script previews are free and take a few seconds, so you can iterate on the copy as many times as you like before spending any credits on the actual render.
At minimum, a clear description of the product and who it's for. For the best results, add a product link or a few high-quality product photos, and tell us the main benefit or the problem it solves.
Yes. Paste your product or store link and GenFlik pulls the key details to write the script and pull in product imagery. You can edit anything it generates before rendering.
GenFlik works in any web browser at genflik.com, as an iOS and Android mobile app, and as an embedded app inside your Shopify admin. There's also an MCP server for using it from AI tools like Claude, Cursor, or ChatGPT.
You can sign up for free and preview scripts at no cost. Rendering a finished video uses credits. Check the Pricing page for current starter offers and credit pack options.
You get a download link by email (and a push notification on mobile). The video is a standard MP4 you can post directly to TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, or use in paid ads.
The AI Director is a guided chat that builds your entire video ad for you. You describe your product in a short conversation, and it writes the script, suggests a matching avatar and voice, adds B-roll, captions, music, and an outro, then renders a finished, ready-to-post MP4. It's the simplest way to use GenFlik if you'd rather be guided than click through settings.
The Create page is a step-by-step builder where you make each choice yourself. The AI Director is a concierge that asks simple questions, recommends the best options, and assembles the whole ad in a conversation. Both produce the same quality video — the Director just does more of the thinking for you.
It's simpler than an editor. A typical AI video editor still asks you to arrange clips, captions, and a timeline. The AI Director skips all of that — you describe what you want and it generates the complete ad for you, including the talking-head spokesperson, captions, music, and B-roll.
Yes. The AI Director writes the script, shows it to you in the chat, and lets you edit it, request a rewrite, or approve it. No render credits are spent until you're happy with the words.
Yes. Right inside the chat it can add your product photos, generate AI B-roll (moving footage), and create scenes that place the avatar with your actual product. It tells you the credit cost before generating anything.
Yes. There's a microphone button in the chat — tap it, speak, and the Director transcribes your words and keeps the conversation going. You can switch between talking and typing whenever you like.
Chatting with the Director and previewing your script are free. You only spend credits when you render the finished video, plus optional extras like AI B-roll, which it prices up front. See the Pricing page for current credit costs.
UGC stands for user-generated content. A UGC ad is a video that looks like a real person casually talking to the camera about a product, the way a customer or creator would, rather than a polished studio commercial. It feels authentic, which is why it performs so well on social platforms.
People trust people more than they trust brands. UGC-style ads blend into social feeds, feel like a recommendation from a friend, and don't trigger the 'this is an ad' reflex that makes viewers scroll past. That usually means higher watch time, more clicks, and lower ad costs.
A regular commercial is glossy and clearly an ad. GenFlik ads are designed to look like an authentic person speaking directly to the viewer, with captions, casual delivery, and a vertical format built for TikTok, Reels, and Shorts, where native-looking content wins.
Anywhere short-form video works: TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, paid social ads, your product pages, email campaigns, and landing pages. Vertical 9:16 is best for social; 16:9 works for web and YouTube.
Organic content is posted to your own profile for free and reaches your followers and whoever the algorithm chooses. A paid ad is the same kind of video, but you pay the platform to show it to a targeted audience. The same GenFlik video can be used for both.
For paid social and short-form, 15 to 30 seconds usually performs best. Use 15 seconds for a single sharp hook and offer, 30 seconds when you need to explain a benefit or show social proof, and 60 seconds for more detailed storytelling or higher-consideration products.
The hook is the first 1 to 3 seconds of your video, the line that stops the scroll. It's the single most important part of any short-form ad because most viewers decide instantly whether to keep watching.
They look like a real person talking to camera, with natural voice, lip movement, and captions. They're not meant to fool anyone into thinking it's a specific celebrity; they're meant to feel like authentic creator content, which is exactly what performs on social.
It's a video where a person (an avatar) faces the camera and speaks directly to the viewer. This format dominates UGC and paid social right now because the direct eye contact and spoken delivery build trust fast.
Yes. You can keep the avatar front and center, shrink it into a corner bubble over product footage, or use the scene composer to place the avatar alongside your actual product. You can also lean on B-roll from your product photos with the avatar as voiceover.
Almost always for paid social and short-form organic. If you're advertising on TikTok, Reels, Shorts, or Facebook, the first line decides whether anyone watches the rest. A weak opening wastes the entire video.
When you're talking to a warm, high-trust audience (existing customers, email lists, retargeting) or selling a serious, high-consideration product where a clickbait opener undercuts credibility. There, lead with clarity and relevance instead of a shock hook.
It's specific, relevant to the viewer's problem, and creates curiosity or tension in the first three seconds. Strong patterns include a bold claim, a relatable problem, a surprising result, a question the viewer wants answered, or a 'stop doing X' callout.
Yes. Every script GenFlik writes opens with a hook tuned to your product and chosen tone. You can preview it for free and regenerate or edit the opening line until it grabs. You can also brainstorm openers with the free AI video hook generator — 10 scroll-stopping hooks in seconds, no sign-up.
Yes. The hook is the highest-leverage thing to test. Make several versions of the same ad with different opening lines and let the cheapest, fastest tier prove which one holds attention before you scale spend.
Problem-agitate ('If you struggle with X, watch this'), result-first ('I tried this for 7 days and here's what happened'), contrarian ('Stop buying X, do this instead'), curiosity ('Nobody talks about this, but...'), and direct callout ('If you sell on Shopify, this is for you').
One to three seconds, ideally a single punchy sentence. If the viewer has to wait for the payoff, you've already lost a chunk of the audience.
Yes, even more in some ways, because organic reach is earned. A strong hook boosts watch time and completion, which is exactly what the algorithm rewards with more distribution.
GenFlik supports several formats: standard ad, testimonial, founder story, explainer, and promo. Each one structures the script differently, and you pick the one that matches your goal before the script is written.
Use a testimonial when you need social proof, when the product benefits are believable coming from a customer, or when you're targeting a skeptical audience. Testimonials work especially well for skincare, supplements, apparel, and anything where 'does it actually work?' is the main objection.
Avoid testimonial framing for a brand-new product with no real proof yet, or when authenticity could be questioned. If you can't back up the claims, a benefit-led product ad or founder story is safer and more honest.
Use a straightforward product ad when the value is obvious and you mainly need to show what it is, who it's for, and why it's better. It's the workhorse format for cold traffic and clear, visual products.
Use a founder story when your brand's origin is a selling point, when you're building a personal or mission-driven brand, or when you want to create connection before the pitch. It works well for smaller brands competing against faceless big players.
Use an explainer when the product needs context, when people don't immediately understand what it does, or when there's a 'how it works' moment that removes hesitation. Great for tech, tools, services, and novel products.
Use a promo when you have a specific offer, discount, launch, or deadline. The goal is urgency and a clear call to action, so it's ideal for sales events, new drops, and limited-time deals.
You can set the tone of the script independently of the format: hype, professional, funny, or educational. Tone controls how it sounds; the script type controls how it's structured.
There's no single winner; it depends on your product and audience temperature. A reliable approach is to test a testimonial against a benefit-led product ad for cold traffic, and use founder stories or explainers to warm people up. Let cheap, fast renders tell you what works.
More than you think. Top advertisers test many variations of hook, format, and avatar, then scale the few winners. Because GenFlik is fast and credit-based, you can produce a batch of variations instead of betting everything on one video.
You can, but it's better to let GenFlik rewrite it for each format. A testimonial and an explainer need different structures, so regenerating per format usually beats forcing one script into every mold.
Almost always. Tell the viewer exactly what to do next: shop now, tap the link, use the code, learn more. A clear CTA at the end consistently lifts conversions, and GenFlik includes one tuned to your chosen format.
HeyGen is a general-purpose corporate avatar tool, great for training videos and explainers. GenFlik is purpose-built for short-form ads: ad-style scripts, auto-burned captions, B-roll from your product photos, music, and a vertical cut are all on by default. You don't have to assemble the ad yourself, and GenFlik adds Shopify integration and an MCP server that HeyGen doesn't have.
Synthesia shines at corporate training and internal comms in many languages. GenFlik is focused on marketing ads, not training decks. If you need a 5-minute onboarding video, use Synthesia; if you need a 15 to 30 second product ad that looks native on social, GenFlik is built for exactly that, with no monthly seat commitment.
Arcads and Creatify are the closest competitors and both generate UGC-style ads from URLs. GenFlik's edge is deep Shopify integration (product picker, best-seller mining, real customer-voice script augmentation, and a product-in-hand scene composer using your actual product photo), plus a hosted MCP server and first-class custom avatars from a single photo. If a specific avatar look matters most, compare libraries; if Shopify-native features and automation matter, GenFlik wins.
Captions is a video editor with AI assists, strongest when you already have human-shot footage to polish. GenFlik doesn't edit footage; it generates the entire ad from a text prompt. Use Captions when you have footage; use GenFlik when you have a product but no footage and no time to shoot.
Pictory and Vidnoz lean on stock B-roll with a synthesized voiceover. GenFlik leads with a real-looking talking-head avatar speaking directly to the viewer, the UGC format that's currently winning on paid social, and grounds the B-roll in your own product photos rather than generic stock.
It's the only tool in this space that combines a one-shot ad pipeline (script, voice, captions, music, B-roll, outro in one click) with deep Shopify-native features and a hosted MCP server for AI agents. You submit once and get a finished, post-ready ad instead of stitching together five separate tools.
If you need to edit existing human-shot footage, use Captions or a real editor. If you need long corporate training videos, use Synthesia. If you need a massive 200+ stock-avatar library and don't care about Shopify features, evaluate Arcads. If you need real-time interactive avatars, look at HeyGen Interactive or D-ID Agents.
No. GenFlik is credit-based with no monthly commitment, so you pay for what you render. Shopify merchants who install from the App Store are billed through Shopify Billing, with no separate subscription to manage.
Yes: install directly from the Shopify App Store with an embedded admin experience, mine your real best-sellers from order history, augment scripts with your real (PII-sanitized) customer reviews, place an avatar holding your actual product photo, and generate ads programmatically via the MCP server from Claude, Cursor, or ChatGPT.
Yes, for ad creation. InVideo is a template-driven editor that leans on stock footage and timeline editing. GenFlik instead generates a complete talking-head UGC ad from a prompt, with script, voice, captions, music, and B-roll handled automatically. Use InVideo to assemble clips by hand; use GenFlik to skip the editing entirely.
For ads, yes. Canva is a general design tool with video templates you build manually. GenFlik is purpose-built to produce a finished UGC ad in one shot, including a real-looking spokesperson. They can complement each other: design assets in Canva, generate the ad in GenFlik.
Usually far cheaper and faster. A single creator video often costs $75 to $500+ and takes days. With GenFlik you generate multiple variations in minutes for credits. Human creators add real authenticity, so many brands mix both, but GenFlik lets you test volume and scale the winners affordably.
For high-volume ad testing, often yes. GenFlik produces creator-style talking-head ads on demand without scheduling, briefing, or revisions. For a flagship campaign where a specific real person's authenticity matters, a human creator still adds something. Most brands use GenFlik for scale and creators selectively.
It reduces the need, but you still want good product photos as the raw material. GenFlik turns existing product images into B-roll and scene-composed shots with a talking avatar, so you get ad video without booking a video shoot. It doesn't manufacture studio product stills you don't already have.
For short-form direct-response ads, frequently yes, at a fraction of the cost and turnaround. For complex brand films, multi-location shoots, or live-action storytelling, an agency still wins. GenFlik's sweet spot is fast, testable, high-volume social ads.
Yes. GenFlik and Arcads both turn a product URL into a UGC-style talking-head ad. GenFlik's advantage is deep Shopify integration (catalog picker, best-seller mining, real customer-review scripts, and an avatar holding your actual product), a hosted MCP server for AI assistants, custom avatars from a single photo, and credit-based pricing with no monthly subscription. Arcads counters with a larger stock-actor library, so if actor variety is your top priority, compare the libraries.
Both generate UGC ads from a link. Arcads centers on a very large actor library behind a monthly subscription. GenFlik centers on your store: it installs into Shopify, uses your real products, best-sellers, and reviews, places the avatar with your product, and bills per render with no subscription. If actor variety is everything, look at Arcads; if Shopify-native automation and pay-as-you-go pricing matter, GenFlik wins.
GenFlik is credit-based with no monthly commitment, so you only pay for the videos you render, and script previews are free. Arcads is subscription-based and its API access sits on a higher monthly tier. For low or bursty volume, pay-as-you-go is usually cheaper — see the Pricing page for current GenFlik credit costs.
No. GenFlik installs directly from the Shopify App Store and runs embedded in your Shopify admin, with a product picker, best-seller mining from your order history, and customer-review-augmented scripts. Arcads is a standalone web app without that native Shopify surface.
For short-form UGC product ads, GenFlik is a strong alternative to all three, especially for Shopify and e-commerce sellers, because it produces a complete post-ready ad in one shot and plugs into your store. Arcads and Creatify are the closest like-for-like UGC ad tools; HeyGen and Synthesia are better suited to corporate, training, and translation use cases. See the Alternatives page for a full feature-by-feature comparison.
Yes. Paste a product or store link and GenFlik pulls the key details, like the title, description, and images, to draft your script and B-roll. You can edit everything before rendering.
Yes, and Shopify is the best-supported source. If you install the Shopify app, GenFlik connects to your real catalog directly so you can pick products without pasting links at all.
You can paste most product page links and GenFlik will pull what it can read. Some large marketplaces block automated reading, so if a particular page doesn't import cleanly, just paste the product description or upload a few photos instead — the result is the same.
In most cases yes — paste the listing link and GenFlik extracts the details. If a specific site blocks automated reading, fall back to pasting the description and uploading product images. GenFlik never depends on a single source to make your ad.
Yes. Any standard product page link usually works. For custom or gated pages that can't be read automatically, paste the description and add photos and you're good to go.
GenFlik reads the page, extracts the product name, description, and images, and uses them to write a draft script and assemble B-roll. You review and edit the script, choose your avatar, voice, and quality, then render.
Yes. From a link it pulls the title, key description, and available images automatically. You always get to review and refine what it found before spending credits.
No problem. You can simply type a description of the product and who it's for, and optionally upload photos. A link is convenient but never required.
Yes. GenFlik's default vertical 9:16 format with burned-in captions and a strong hook is built exactly for TikTok.
Yes. The same vertical 9:16 ad works natively as a Reel, both for organic posts and paid promotion.
Yes. Vertical videos up to 60 seconds are ideal for Shorts, and GenFlik outputs exactly that.
Yes. GenFlik videos work as paid ads across Meta. Use 9:16 for Reels and Stories placements, or 16:9 for in-feed and other slots.
Yes. Both favor vertical video, which is GenFlik's default. The finished MP4 uploads directly to either platform.
Yes, within the 60-second cap. Choose 16:9 for standard YouTube placement or 9:16 for Shorts. GenFlik is built for short-form, so it tops out at 60 seconds.
Yes. Product-page videos lift conversion, and GenFlik can generate them from your product details. For Shopify, the embedded app pulls your catalog directly; for Amazon, paste a link or upload photos.
A single vertical 9:16 video covers TikTok, Reels, Shorts, Pinterest, and Snapchat. For in-feed Facebook or standard YouTube you may prefer 16:9. You can render either format from the same inputs.
Yes, it's a standout fit. Beyond the web app, GenFlik installs into Shopify with product picking, best-seller mining, customer-voice scripts, and a product-in-hand scene composer using your real photos.
Yes. Paste a product link or upload your listing photos, and GenFlik produces UGC ads you can run on social to drive external traffic, or use as product-page video.
Yes. Upload photos of your items or paste a listing, and GenFlik creates authentic-feeling ads that suit handmade and small-batch brands well.
Yes. Fast, low-cost ad creation lets you test many products and creatives quickly, which is exactly what dropshipping needs to find winners.
Yes. GenFlik's native vertical UGC format is tailor-made for TikTok-style selling, and you can spin up lots of variations to keep content fresh. If you're ever stuck on what to post, the free AI content idea generator maps out a week of video angles for your product.
Yes. Agencies can produce ads for many clients quickly, batch variations, and even automate generation through the MCP server. Credit-based billing scales with your workload.
Yes. Upload your design mockups or product photos and GenFlik builds ads around them, so you can promote a wide catalog without shooting each item.
Especially so. If you don't have a creative team, budget for creators, or time to shoot, GenFlik gives you professional-looking ads on your own schedule.
Yes. Brands use GenFlik to test creative angles fast and cheaply before committing bigger budgets, and to keep a steady stream of fresh social ads running.
Yes, and it's a great fit. With the scene composer you can have the avatar actually wear and model your clothing by describing the garment in the scene prompt and using your product photo as a reference. You can also showcase items through B-roll and a talking spokesperson. Generated scenes are AI, so preview the variants and pick the best one before rendering.
Yes. In the scene composer, describe the garment you want the avatar to wear and provide your product photo as a reference, and GenFlik can generate the avatar modeling it. Because each scene is AI-generated, results vary by item, so review the preview variants and adopt the one that looks right before you render.
Yes, and these are a great fit. Testimonial and benefit-led formats work well for beauty and wellness, where social proof drives purchases. All review-based augmentation is PII-sanitized.
Yes. Use the explainer format to clarify what the product does, paired with B-roll of your product photos to show it off.
Yes. Demonstrative, benefit-led scripts plus your product imagery make for strong kitchen and home ads.
Yes. Hype and testimonial styles suit fitness products, where motivation and results-driven messaging perform well.
Yes. Pet brands do well with warm, relatable UGC. Upload product photos and let GenFlik build the ad around them.
Yes. High-quality product photos shine as B-roll, and a talking avatar adds the story and call to action.
Yes. Showcase the pieces with your photos and use an explainer or promo script to highlight style, quality, or an offer.
Yes. GenFlik adapts to almost any physical product category by combining your product imagery with a talking-avatar script tuned to your audience and goal.
Yes. Non-physical products work too. The explainer and testimonial formats are great for SaaS, apps, courses, and services, where the avatar explains the value and builds trust.
GenFlik includes 20+ stock talking-head avatars across genders, ages, and ethnicities, all pre-cleared talent. You can also create a custom avatar from a single photo you supply.
Yes. Upload a photo and GenFlik can turn it into a talking avatar. Using a custom avatar costs the same as a normal video — there's no extra surcharge.
Nothing extra. A custom avatar costs the same as a normal video — you just pay the base video price. The exact, live number is always shown on the Pricing page and in the app before you render.
Only with that person's permission. You're responsible for having the rights to any photo you upload. Don't use photos of people who haven't agreed to appear in your ads.
The scene composer places your avatar in a scene with your actual product, for example holding it or standing next to it, using your real product photo. It's a powerful way to make the ad feel grounded in the real item rather than generic.
Yes. The product-in-hand scene composer uses your product photo (including photos pulled from your Shopify catalog) to place the product with the avatar, so the ad shows the real thing.
Pick someone who resembles your target customer; viewers trust people who look like them. Test a couple of different avatars against the same script, since the face can change performance as much as the words.
Yes. You can render the avatar as a small round corner bubble over product or screen footage, which is a popular reaction-style UGC layout. You choose which corner it sits in.
Yes. Avatars can speak any of the supported languages with matching voice and lip movement, so you can localize the same ad for different markets.
GenFlik offers 50+ voices across genders, accents, and languages, so you can match the voice to your brand and audience.
31 languages, including English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Arabic, and many more.
Yes. Generate the ad once, then create localized versions in other languages to reach different markets without reshooting anything.
Yes. You can hear a sample of each voice while choosing, so you can match the tone and accent to your brand before rendering.
GenFlik uses professional voice synthesis for its voice library. If voice cloning is available for your account, you'll see it in the voice picker; otherwise choose from the curated library of 50+ voices.
Yes. Captions are auto-generated to match the voiceover, including in non-English languages, so your ad is accessible and watchable with sound off.
Yes. The talking-head rendering syncs the avatar's lip movement to the generated voice, in every supported language.
My Voice lets you record yourself, or upload an audio file, reading your script — and the finished video uses your own real voice instead of an AI one. It keeps your exact delivery, timing, accent, and pronunciation. You can use it for a talking-avatar video or a faceless voiceover. It's available on the create screen in the GenFlik web app.
Only if you want it to. By default the video keeps your own real recorded voice, exactly as you said it. After you record, there's a clear choice: keep your own voice, or swap your recording onto one of our AI voices — which keeps your timing but changes the voice. Keeping your own voice is the default.
Three reasons: authenticity, since real founders and creators tend to perform well in UGC-style ads; full control over delivery, emotion, and pacing; and perfect pronunciation of names, brands, and tricky words that text-to-speech sometimes gets wrong.
From your actual recording. We measure how long you spoke and place it in the smallest standard length that fits — 15, 30, 45, or 60 seconds, with a little grace — so you don't set the duration by hand for My Voice; whatever you record sets it, up to 60 seconds. The price is the normal cost for that length and the quality you pick; check the Pricing page for live numbers.
Our AI voices support Hebrew, but the guttural 'ch/kh' sound — the letters chet (ח) and khaf (כ) — is one that text-to-speech can soften or mispronounce, because it has to guess the pronunciation from the written text. The most reliable way to get it perfect is My Voice: record yourself saying it and the video uses your exact pronunciation.
Use My Voice and read the script aloud yourself — the video then carries your real pronunciation of gutturals like chet (ח), khaf (כ), resh (ר), and ayin (ע). If you'd rather use an AI voice, keep the wording simple and listen to the free script preview first, but for names and guttural sounds, recording your own voice is the safest bet.
Mandarin Chinese is tonal — the same syllable can mean different things depending on the tone — so pronunciation really matters. Our AI voices handle Mandarin, but when a specific word, name, or tone is critical, the My Voice feature guarantees it, because it's your own recording rather than a guess from text.
Any sound that doesn't exist in English can occasionally trip up text-to-speech, because it infers pronunciation from spelling. Common examples: the guttural 'ch/kh' in Hebrew, Arabic, German (as in 'Bach') and Dutch; tones in Mandarin, Cantonese and Vietnamese; the rolled 'rr' in Spanish; nasal vowels in French and Portuguese; the French guttural 'r'; pitch accent in Japanese; retroflex and aspirated consonants in Hindi; and the throaty and emphatic letters in Arabic such as ʿayin (ع), ḥet (ح) and qaf (ق). For any of these, My Voice removes the guesswork.
First, use the free script preview to hear it — you can often fix it by rewording, or by spelling the word the way it sounds. If it's a name, a brand, or a tricky foreign sound, the surest fix is My Voice: record yourself saying it correctly and the video uses your real pronunciation.
AI voices usually do well, but unusual spellings and invented names can be hit or miss, because the voice reads from text. If your name has to be exact, record it yourself with My Voice, or check the free preview and adjust the spelling until it sounds right.
Yes. My Voice works with both a talking avatar and a faceless voiceover video, where your recording plays over product photos, B-roll, or a clean branded background. It's a great way to narrate an ad in your own voice without being on camera.
My Voice is a web-app feature because it needs you to record or upload an audio file. The AI Director chat and the MCP server (for Claude, Cursor, and ChatGPT) are text-based and can't capture audio, so use the create screen's My Voice option for your own voice. Through those tools you can still pick any of our AI voices.
Yes. We transcribe your audio to generate word-synced captions, including in non-English languages, so your ad stays watchable with the sound off.
GenFlik is credit-based. Each video costs a number of credits based on its length and the quality tier you choose. You buy credits in packs and spend them as you render. The Pricing page always shows the live rates.
Cost scales with length and quality. As a rough guide, a 15-second standard video starts around 21 credits, 30 seconds around 35, and 60 seconds around 70, with the premium tier costing roughly double at the same length. Always check the Pricing page for the current numbers.
There are three: Fast, Cinematic Standard, and Cinematic Pro. Fast is quickest and most affordable. Cinematic Standard renders more realistically at the same price as Fast but takes longer. Cinematic Pro is the highest quality and costs more.
On purpose. Standard renders with better quality than Fast but takes longer to produce, so we price them the same and let you choose between speed and polish without paying extra for Standard.
Yes. Generating and editing script previews costs no credits. You only spend credits when you render a finished video.
Removing the GenFlik branded outro carries a small fee, and previewing scene-background options costs a couple of credits per try. Anything extra is shown clearly before you render. Custom avatars cost the same as a normal video — no surcharge. The base price covers script, voice, captions, music, B-roll, and the standard outro.
On the web and mobile apps you buy credit packs through Stripe. If you installed GenFlik from the Shopify App Store, you buy credits through Shopify Billing inside your admin. Pricing is the same either way.
Check the Pricing page and your account for the latest terms on credit validity. If you have a specific question about your balance, contact support and we'll help.
If a render fails on our side, your credits are returned automatically. See the Refunds page for the full policy, and contact support if anything looks off.
No monthly subscription is required; you pay per render with credits. Shopify merchants are billed through Shopify Billing rather than a separate plan.
Yes. GenFlik is on the Shopify App Store. Install it and you get an embedded experience right inside your Shopify admin, with access to your real products, orders, and reviews.
Find GenFlik on the Shopify App Store and click install. Shopify handles permissions during install, and then you can create ads directly from inside your admin.
Inside Shopify you can pick from your real product catalog, see a best-sellers card based on your actual order history, augment scripts with your real customer reviews, and use the product-in-hand scene composer with your store's product photos.
Through Shopify Billing inside your admin, not Stripe. You'll never be asked to enter a separate card; charges appear on your Shopify invoice.
GenFlik can look at your recent order history (rolling 7-day and 30-day windows) to surface your top products, so you can quickly make ads for what's already selling.
GenFlik can read your product reviews and weave the phrasing real customers use into the script, without quoting them verbatim. All review data is PII-sanitized first: first names only, with emails, URLs, and phone numbers stripped.
Yes. Order data is cached only as aggregate counts per product, never per-customer. Review data is sanitized before storage and before being shown to the AI. We support Shopify's data-request and data-redaction webhooks, and uninstalling removes access.
Uninstalling revokes GenFlik's access to your store. We honor Shopify's redaction webhooks, and a shop-redact request hard-deletes your store record.
No. The Shopify app is optional. Anyone can use GenFlik on the web at genflik.com or on mobile without a Shopify store.
A standard MP4, ready to upload anywhere. You choose the shape up front: vertical 9:16 for TikTok, Reels, and Shorts, square 1:1 for feed posts, or widescreen 16:9 for web and YouTube. The video is rendered natively in the shape you pick.
15, 30, and 60 seconds. Outputs are capped at 60 seconds because GenFlik is built for short-form ads, not long videos.
Yes. Subtitles are auto-generated and burned into the video, matched to the voiceover, so your ad works even when viewers watch with the sound off.
Yes. Background music is added automatically as part of the one-shot pipeline. The base price covers it.
Videos end with a short GenFlik-branded outro by default. You can remove it for a small fee, shown before you render, if you want a fully unbranded video.
GenFlik is a generator, not a timeline editor, so you can't trim or splice the finished MP4 inside the app. Instead, edit upstream: change the script, length, avatar, voice, or style and regenerate. The finished MP4 can of course be edited in any external editor.
Yes. You get a download link by email when the render finishes, and your videos are available in your account.
Because the spoken script has to fit the video duration. GenFlik targets a natural speaking pace for your chosen length, so the voiceover doesn't run over or feel rushed. If your own script is too long for the duration, the app will tell you.
GenFlik builds B-roll from your product photos automatically. It isn't a footage editor, so it won't import and cut arbitrary clips, but you can supply product images and let it assemble the slideshow with transitions.
Yes. A faceless voiceover video is the standard option: instead of a talking-head avatar, your voiceover plays over your product photos, moving B-roll, captions, music, and a clean branded background. It's a great fit if you'd rather keep a product front and center, or not put a face on screen. Adding a talking-head avatar is an optional choice, not a requirement.
An avatar video has an AI presenter (or your custom avatar) talking to camera. A faceless video has no presenter — it's a voiceover over your product visuals, B-roll, and captions. Both get the same script, voice, captions, music, and outro; the only difference is whether a person appears on screen.
You choose the shape before you render: vertical 9:16 for TikTok, Reels, and Shorts; square 1:1 for feed posts; or widescreen 16:9 for web, YouTube, and landing pages. The video is built natively in the shape you pick, so nothing looks stretched or cropped.
Yes. If you already have a video and need it in another shape — say you made a vertical ad and now want a square version — you can reframe it to a different aspect ratio without recreating the whole ad. Reframing uses a small number of credits, shown before you confirm.
Yes. The My Voice feature lets you record yourself, or upload an audio file, reading your script, and the video uses your own real voice. It works for both avatar and faceless videos and is available on the create screen in the web app. See the 'Your own voice & pronunciation' section for details.
It's a free tool on the site that breaks down what makes a winning ad work, shot by shot — the hook, the structure, the pacing, and the call to action. You can explore a curated library of ad formulas, or paste your own script or upload a video to get a breakdown. It doesn't use any credits, and you can turn what you learn into an ad in one click.
No. The Winning Ads Analyzer and the other marketing tools — script, hook, caption, and content-idea generators, plus the ROI calculator — are free to use without an account. You only need to sign in when you're ready to render a finished video.
Use UGC for paid social and short-form, where native-looking content outperforms glossy production. Save polished, high-production ads for TV, big brand campaigns, or hero placements. For most direct-response social advertising, UGC wins on cost and performance.
Run several at once. Change one variable at a time (hook, avatar, format) so you learn what actually moves results. Because GenFlik is fast and per-render, you can afford to test a batch and scale only the winners.
The hook. It has the biggest impact on watch time and cost. After you find a winning hook, test avatars and formats, then refine the offer and call to action.
Watch the metrics that match your goal: hook rate or 3-second views for attention, watch time and completion for retention, and click-through and conversion for results. Kill the losers fast and put budget behind the winners.
Regularly. Even winning ads fatigue as audiences see them repeatedly, so a steady stream of fresh creative keeps performance up. A common rhythm is several new variations every week or two.
Yes. Cold audiences need a strong hook and clear value, so testimonials and benefit-led product ads work well. Warm audiences already know you, so offers, promos, and deeper founder or explainer content tend to convert better.
A weak hook and trying to say too much. Lead with one sharp idea in the first three seconds, focus on a single benefit or problem, and end with a clear call to action. Cramming everything in kills retention.
The same vertical 9:16 video works across all three, which is why GenFlik defaults to that format. You can tweak the hook or captions per platform if you want, but one strong vertical ad is a great starting point for all of them.
Short and direct, one clear instruction at the end: shop now, tap the link, use the code. Avoid stacking multiple asks; one CTA converts better than three.
No. UGC works for apps, software, services, courses, and subscriptions too. Anywhere a real-sounding recommendation builds trust, the format performs, and GenFlik's explainer and testimonial scripts adapt to non-physical products.
